
Brady Williamson is a partner and a co-founder of Capitol
Opinion, a Wisconsin based research firm that combines
cutting edge research techniques with the political
savvy and experience of some of Wisconsin’s top
political minds.
Mr. Williamson is also a partner in the law firm of
Godfrey & Kahn. Mr. Williamson’s practice
in Madison and in Milwaukee involves several disciplines
and law firm teams including the Business Finance and
Restructuring and Litigation Practice Groups. He is
a member of the Firm’s Government Relations Practice
Group and focuses this area of practice on election
and campaign finance law. He also heads the Firm’s
Media Law Group, which represents newspapers, magazines,
ISPs and radio and television stations statewide and
regionally.
Mr. Williamson has twice represented clients successfully
in the U.S. Supreme Court, and he often has appeared
in the federal and state appellate courts. On March
28, 1996, the President of the United States appointed
him to chair the National Bankruptcy Review Commission,
which submitted its 1300-page report to the Congress,
the Chief Justice and the President on October 20, 1997.
Mr. Williamson is a 1975 graduate of the Georgetown
University Law Center, and teaches state and federal
constitutional law, campaign finance and election law,
and bankruptcy law at the University of Wisconsin Law
School. Mr. Williamson has worked on political and legal
issues for several Democratic presidential candidates.
